ARTS & CULTURE;
SOUTH BALDWIN COMMUNITY THEATRE
South Baldwin Community Theatre encourages residents to develop and maintain an active and abiding interest in legitimate theater. They have a theater in Gulf Shores that has ten productions, including three Young Artist Series involving children from the local community and other events each year. Their project is to upgrade their lighting system, thereby enhancing their productions and the theater experience for the performers and guests.
EDUCATION: BALDWIN COUNTY LIBRARY COOPERATIVE
The Baldwin County Library Cooperative seeks to improve library services throughout the county and to ensure all citizens have access to information resources adequate to meet their professional, educational and recreational needs. The Impact grant was used to purchase a pre-owned vehicle that was transformed into a new bookmobile, allowing them to take their services to those citizens who live in rural areas not served by a municipal library.
FAMILY: THE FAMILY CENTER
The Family Center‘s goal is to strengthen families and prevent child abuse and neglect by providing free education training and support to families. Grant funding allowed for the purchase of a centrally located facility in Robertsdale that gave them the ability to offer monitored child exchanges, expand their supervised child visitation program, and conduct classes.The Family Center‘s goal is to strengthen families and prevent child abuse and neglect by providing free education training and support to families. HEALTH & WELLNESS:
UNDER HIS WINGS
Under His Wings provides a residential group home for adolescent girls in Baldwin County who have been traumatized by abuse, homelessness, abandonment, or other tragic events. Grant funds were used to construct a new, permanent home in Baldwin County where these girls can live, learn, heal, and develop hope for their future. Construction was completed in 2017
