EDUCATION

 Alabama Sheriffs Youth Ranch:

The Alabama Sheriffs Youth Ranch operates the Baldwin County Boys Ranch in Summerdale, providing housing and care for up to 16 boys at a time, giving them a normal home life, teaching them living skills, guiding them to complete high school and encouraging college or vocational training beyond graduation. The Vocational Program for Ranchers project will provide boys skills in cattle ranching and woodworking to enable them to become self-sufficient wage earners and productive members of society. The Impact 100 grant will be used for the purchase of materials and equipment such as fencing/gates, cattle feeding/watering equipment, upgraded vaccination station, upgrades to the shop building, installation of a shop ventilation system, and new saws/lathes/hand tools, etc.

ENVIRONMENT & PRESERVATION

Stapleton Volunteer Fire Department:
"Protecting and Preparing for Growth"

In operation for 46 years, The Stapleton Volunteer Fire Department protects lives and property of residents of Stapleton, Loxley, Crossroads, Whitehouse Fork and surrounding communities, and provides emergency medical services as well as prevention and education programs. With support from Impact 100, the SVFD is purchasing safety and firefighting equipment to outfit a new pumper truck obtained in 2022. This is a critical project undertaken to help the department fulfill its mission in light of residential and commercial growth in and around the communities it serves.

FAMILY

   Ecumenical Ministries
   "Emmy's Thrift Store Expansion"

Ecumenical Ministries, organized in Baldwin County in 1974, serves needy people by providing emergency financial help, home repairs, Meals on Wheels, toys and food at Christmas, and community development. With grant funding from Impact 100, EM will be expanding Emmy's Thrift Shop into the former office spaces after the offices are relocated to a new building being constructed on the property. The expansion is expected to increase sales to generate more funding for social service programs, potentially doubling the number of homes repaired each year through the Repair Baldwin program that was started with an Impact 100 grant in 2012!
